How we measure
- 20 cluster-relevant queries. Curated to span our 8 topical clusters: stack, skills, tools, growth, seo, agents, playbook, case-study. We do not cherry-pick branded queries — most queries are non-branded so the metric reflects real GEO performance.
- Platforms covered today. Google AI Overviews and Bing Copilot (publicly probeable). Perplexity and ChatGPT join in Phase 2 once API budgets are unlocked.
- Detection. For each query we extract every source URL the AI
engine returns and check whether
500k.ioappears. Rank = position in the source list, 1 being top. - Cadence. Sunday 12:00 UTC, every week. The script
(
scripts/probe-llm-citations.mjs) commits the snapshot todata/citations/2026-W18.jsonand triggers a Cloudflare Pages rebuild so this page re-renders. - Honesty rule. We publish losses as well as wins. If the citation rate drops next week, this page reflects that. The point is the methodology, not the score.
